About the Loupe Theatre Company
The Loupe Theatre Company is a fresh, truly independent formation that is not bound by any institution or government or municipal funding. We create performances that address the urgent social issues of contemporary Europe and Hungary, as well as unspoken taboos, in a universally interpretable, emotionally engaging, and direct manner. The word "Loupe" means magnifying glass or prism. Our goal is to "magnify" and bring to the forefront topics that would be easier to avoid in everyday life, using the tools of theater. We achieve this by collaborating with actors who have proven their talent, diligence, and expertise multiple times, and who have a wide recognition, allowing our performances to break out of their bubble and engage a broad audience. The Loupe Theatre Company is a democratically functioning team, where we care for each other, believe in the power of dialogue, and acknowledge that multiple perspectives exist and that there is not just one right solution.
